Ashley and Andrew’s love story is one of my favorites! An awesome example of fate and being in the right place at the right time to meet your forever person!
Andrew is a Staff Sergeant in the Marine Corps and he was stationed in Pensacola when he first met Ashley who was vacationing from California. After a chance meeting they instantly connected and their love story blossomed from there! Just as quickly as they met, they were engaged and planning their wedding.
When Ashley and Andrew reached out to me about their engagement photoshoot we later found out that our husbands were coworkers! (Crazy right!) We bonded over being military spouses and I really got to know them as a couple.
When it came to planning their shoot, they knew exactly what they wanted! They chose their go-to brewery, Pensacola Bay Brewery, as their backdrop. Just like it had been most weekends, making the location feel natural and fun!
We started the shoot in the Seville Square park for some fun traditional photos until we decided it was definitely time for a beer! We headed to the brewery, grabbed their favorite beers and set out for a fun engagement session. While we were doing some outdoor detail shots with the ring and beer, the owner came out and asked if we’d like to shoot in the back where they brew the beer!
This space was awesome!!! The tall metallic fermentation tanks used to brew the beer acted as a unique backdrop and an unexpected but fun prop, allowing me to really work on the fly and flex my creativity. Ashley and Andrew were stoked to be able to see the place where their favorite beer was created and it made the experience and the images just that little extra special!
After the shoot finished, I said my goodbyes and in true Ashley and Andrew fashion, they stuck around for another beer before hitting up their favorite restaurant across the park. The perfect end to an unforgettable day!
I see my photography life as a complete life altering decision. I shot my first wedding in Cancun, Mexico and have since shot weddings in four different states. From traveling between the gulf coast all the way back to the midwest, I can't imagine what it would be like to not capture milestones along the way.
