Alicia and Brett’s wedding at Willow on Grand was one of those days that felt classic and put together without ever feeling too serious. From getting ready with their favorite people to a sunny outdoor ceremony and a packed dance floor later that night, there were so many moments that felt completely like them. They also rented one of my camcorders for the day, which meant their friends and family got to document everything from their own perspective alongside the professional photos. And before we get into the rest of their day, you have to see what they captured on the camcorder for yourself!
The morning started inside Willow on Grand with Alicia and her girls getting ready, drinking mimosas, dancing around, and just hanging out before everything officially began. I love when there’s enough time built into the morning for things to happen naturally because these are usually the moments that end up saying so much about the day. Alicia getting into her dress with her mom, her bridesmaids seeing her all ready, and everyone laughing together made the morning feel fun instead of rushed.
And this is also where having a camcorder is so fun. Your wedding gallery captures the day through my perspective, while the camcorder gives your people a chance to capture what they’re seeing too. The random conversations, someone turning the camera on themselves, the behind-the-scenes moments happening across the room, it’s not supposed to be polished, and that’s exactly the point.

Alicia and Brett kept everything classic with black attire, white florals, and a ceremony outside at Willow on Grand. The clean white venue and greenery already give you such a good backdrop, so their simple color palette fit the space perfectly. Once everyone was together, we kept wedding party photos fun and moving rather than spending forever trying to make every single photo feel perfectly posed.
After the ceremony, Alicia and Brett had some time together for portraits around the property. We got the classic photos, of course, but there was also plenty of room for them to laugh, move around, and actually enjoy being newly married. Those in-between moments of Brett picking Alicia up, the two of them laughing together, and her dress moving around them are always some of my favorites.

There’s something about camcorder footage that immediately feels nostalgic. It’s a little imperfect, a little chaotic, and very different from professional wedding coverage in the best way. Instead of replacing your photographer or videographer, it gives you another version of the day, one captured by the people who were right there experiencing it with you.
You can pass it between your wedding party, friends, and family throughout the day and see what they decide is worth recording. You really don’t know what you’re going to get back, which is half the fun. Alicia and Brett’s wedding was such a good example of why I wanted to start offering camcorder rentals in the first place. You get your professional wedding photos alongside these casual little clips that can take you right back to what the day actually felt like.

If you’re planning a wedding at Willow on Grand and want photos that let you actually enjoy your day instead of spending the whole thing posing for the camera, I’d love to document it with you. And if you want an extra layer of memories from the people celebrating alongside you, you can add a camcorder rental too. Your wedding doesn’t need to be documented from just one perspective, and I’m pretty into the idea of your friends getting the camera every once in a while.
